NEW FEATURES
INSTALLATION
The installation procedure as given in the manual has been changed so that after successful installation the installer will reboot your Macintosh. See also "CORRECTIONS FOR RAPIDTRAK MANUAL" below.
HINTS AND TIPS
The installer is configured to use 600K Bytes when running. If you are unable to run the installer due to insufficient memory, try quitting all other applications. If this still does not work, you can reduce the required memory of the installer by unlocking your RapidTrak disk, select the installer, select "Get Info" from the "File" menu, reduce the "current size" in the "Memory Size" section of the info dialog. The memory size can be reduced as low as 400K Bytes.
If you format a hard disk drive, create a cache of the size you wish to use. Select one of the cache types in the RapidTrak control panel and work with it for at least a couple of hours normal working. Note the boost to performance in the RapidTrak control panel. Repeat for each of the other cache types. This will tell you the best type of caching for that drive.
Do not try to remove a cartridge from a drive while it is formatting as the Macintosh may object to this and require a system reboot.
KNOWN PROBLEMS
RapidTrak has been extensively tested to ensure maximum compatibility with the widest possible range of drives. However, there are a few known problems. If you encounter any of these problems and need additional assistance, please contact out Technical Support organisation as described in the RapidTrak User Guide.
1) A hardware problem exists with some Floptical drives that makes formatting unreliable. If you have problems when formatting, you should contact your drive supplier for a hardware upgrade.
2) There is a problem with the Iomega Bernoulli drive that means it will not work with the RapidTrak driver. It will work with PC DiskJockey if the Iomega driver is present in the System folder.
3) If you unmount a disk partition using "Eject Disk", while other partitions remain mounted, and then attempt to remount it by double-clicking on the greyed icon, you will get stuck with the "insert disk …" dialog. You can abort this by pressing Command+period. To re-mount the selected partition, unmount all remaining partitions of the disk so it can be ejected and then re-insert to mount all partitions.

INSTALLATION
The installation procedure section "To End The Installation Procedure" on page 7 of the manual is incorrect. The dialog shown should indicate installation was successful and that the Macintosh will be rebooted, the only button in the dialog being an OK button.
